Training Day at Jonathan Dickinson

Training Day at Jonathan Dickinson

10 Miles

Since we had some cool weather for once in Florida (Mid 50s to low 60s Fahrenheit), Leslie and I decided to do a 10 mile loop in Jonathan Dickinson for some training.  I had heard the loop was about 10 miles, but had never tracked it before.  According to Leslie's software it was exactly 10 miles from start to finish.
Our route was the east loop from the red star heading counter-clockwise

Typical view on eastern side of the loop

Once we got to the northernmost section of the loop there was a lot of water on the trail.  At times the water reached to my knees.  Wet feet from here on out!

This is the trail, not a river

After about 1.5 miles the trail dried out again.  There was surprisingly little wildlife out.  Leslie was hoping to see birds since we thought with the extreme winter weather there would be lots of them down here.  It was a good hike to get our bodies used to walking long mileage and to begin getting in shape once again.

Once again, thanks to Leslie for the pictures and video!
